What is a "creeper"?

Minecraft creeper

A creeper is a Minecraft "mob". A "mob" is another word for a creature that exists within the game. The creeper is what's known as a "hostile mob", or a monster that can harm the player in some way. Creepers are different colors of green and blend in with grass and leaves. Creepers make no noise until you get too close, at which point they sizzle and then explode, breaking nearby blocks and harming the player if they get too close.

What's the point of Minecraft?

At its root, Minecraft is what's known as a sandbox game, meaning the players are free to explore a nearly infinite world, break and place blocks, and do pretty much whatever they want within the limits of the game. There are objectives, known as advancements, which prompt the player to complete certain tasks, like defeating more powerful monsters or visiting other dimensions. If you play the game as a linear adventure game, the "end goal" is to visit a place known as The End and defeat the Ender Dragon. However, many players can achieve this in a matter of hours or days and most players continue playing the game for hundreds or even thousands of hours after the Ender Dragon is defeated.

Why are diamonds so exciting to find?

Diamonds are one of the most valuable ores you can find by exploring caves or mining in the lower levels of the world. Diamonds are used to craft powerful armor to protect the player and powerful tools, such as a pickaxe, sword, or shovel. These tools allow the player to battle more powerful monsters and collect building materials faster.
